Wholesome Wave Georgia is a nonprofit organization that believes fresh and local produce should be accessible to everyone. Through WWG, beneficiaries of federal nutrition, such as SNAP, WIC, and SFMNP, can redeem their benefits at local farmers markets. Furthermore, each dollar spent at a partner market becomes two dollars, doubling the benefits for the consumer and the producer.
Since its inaugural season in 2009, WWG has been striving to achieve its dual vision of supporting local communities and farmers and creating a more vibrant and accessible food system. In 2012, they are active at 15 markets in 7 cities in Georgia.
