Pastry Chef Steven Cak of Parkside - Biography
Originally from Iowa, Cak attended the Scottsdale Culinary Insitiute in Arizona. Cak started his career as a line cook at Goodfellow’s Restaurant in downtown Minneapolis, where he discovered his love for preparing desserts. He then headed to the Culinary Institute of America, graduating with honors in pastry and baking. In his first post at Café Gray under mentor Chef Chris Broberg, Cak perfected his skills, learning to fuse cooking techniques and flavors from various cuisines. His talents next brought him to Aquavit, where he learned the art of Scandinavian cooking as pastry chef for Marcus Samuelsson. Cak then headed south to Austin, joining the team at Parkside, where he continues to draw from his eclectic experiences and passion for all things sweet.
