Writer Sam Sifton - Biography
Sam Sifton served as restaurant critic for The New York Times between 2009 and 2011. He started his career as an assistant editor for American Heritage magazine in 1988 and then held a variety of positions during his eight-year tenure at New York Press. He moved to the Times in 2001, where he served as both dining editor and culture editor prior to being appointed as the lead restaurant critic. He is currently the Times’ national news editor.
