Chef and cookbook author Ron Oliver travels to far corners of the world in pursuit of culinary adventure and inspiration. Once back in his home kitchen he seeks out the finest local, natural, and fresh ingredients to star in his creations. As Chef de Cuisine at The Marine Room, Oliver has led his talented team to be awarded with numerous accolades by local, national, and international press. A tireless globetrotter from an early age, Oliver’s goal is to blend the exotic ingredients found on his travels into innovative dishes that respect the culinary traditions of places close to home and far away. His first cookbook, the celebrated Flying Pans: Two Chefs, One World, was awarded “Best Cookbook, Chef or Restaurant Category” award and the “People’s Choice” award by the International Association of Culinary Professionals in 2011. His passion for food and cooking extends to support local schools and to help young people learn about food literacy by planting sustainable gardens. Oliver is also an accomplished food stylist.
