Chef Marco Edwardes of Te Whau - Biography

Marco Edwardes came to Te Whau as head chef in 2007. Prior to moving to New Zealand, Edwardes was in Switzerland where he was head chef at an exclusive guesthouse and restaurant, high in the Swiss Alps. Edwardes trained in Germany at a Michelin-starred restaurant and was previously head chef at the renowned Pegasus Bay Winery Restaurant in North Canterbury. Since his arrival, Te Whai has been named "One of the {five} most memorable meals of the year" by Jerry Shriver of USA Today in December 2007 and was awarded "Best Rural Restaurant, 2008 and 2009" by Metro/Audi Restaurant of the Year Awards. Edwardes lives on Waiheke Island with his wife Charlotte and children Carlo and Amba.
