Mixologist Lara Creasy of JCT. Kitchen & Bar - Biography
Recognized as one of the top mixologists in Atlanta by Imbibe Magazine, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and Creative Loafing, Lara Creasy brings a unique and progressive sense of cocktail creations, and a thoughtful wine-savvy, to her role as beverage director for Atlanta’s No. 246 and JCT Kithcen & Bar.
Prior to diving into her professional career, Creasy graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts from the Art Institute of Atlanta in 2000. And since then, she’s spent the past 10 years creating some of the best beverage programs in the area, at places like Watershed in Decatur, Shaun’s in Inman Park, and now at JCT and No. 246. In the spring of 2011, Creasy won the semi-finals round of the United States Bartenders Guild “Don Q Rum Mix-Off,” which qualified her to participate in the national finals at the Manhattan Cocktail Classic on May 14, 2011. She also served as secretary for the Atlanta chapter of the United States Bartenders’ Guild from 2010-2011 and just completed her Certified Specialist of Wine course, receiving the highest exam score in her class.
At JCT Kitchen & Bar, Creasy creates seasonally-driven cocktails that reflect both the old South and the constantly evolving New South; and her newer cocktail program at the younger No. 246 incorporates Southern flavors and local ingredients into the traditional beverages of Italy. Her wine list at No. 246 is creative and affordable, featuring selections that reflect all of Italy’s regions and styles. An ample list of by-the-glass options and a revolving selection of “house wines” give guests remarkable value for everyday drinking.
