Sommelier Kerin Auth of Olé Imports - Biography

New Rochelle, NY

August 2011

Kerin Auth has dedicated her career to understanding the joys of food and wine. Having cultivated and nurtured epicurean habits throughout her many years in restaurants, in 2002 Auth left the serving life to pursue her love of wine in Spain. She first visited the Iberian Peninsula as a teenager and has been hopelessly devoted to exploring Spanish culture ever since, returning 25 times.

Auth studied Spanish in Seville and graduated from Queens College in New York. She landed her dream job as an account manager for Tempranillo Inc., distributors of Jorge OrdoÑez’s Fine Estates from Spain. As both an educator and student of her clients, Auth poured Spanish wine into the New York market for seven years.

In 2008, Auth became a partner in Tinto Fino – Vinos de España, a curated Spanish wines distributor in the East Village. There she tasted thousands of Spanish wines, honing her palate and meeting many key people that shaped her future.

Today Auth is the regional manager for the national Spanish wine portfolio, Olé Imports, and a managing partner in their sister portfolio of small production, off-the-beaten-path Spanish wines called Peninsula Wines.
