Chef John Cox of Sierra Mar at the Post Ranch Inn - Biography

Chef John Cox earned his culinary degree from the New England Culinary Institute in 2001, where he is still a board member today. He moved west and began his professional career at Sierra Mar at Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur. After working his way up to chef de cuisine, Cox moved on, spending time immersing himself in Hawaii's island cuisine and the bold, spicy flavors of the southwest in New Mexico.

After executive chef posts at La Bicyclette and Casanova restaurants in nearby Carmel, Cox returned to Sierra Mar in 2012, where he is currently the executive chef. Hi dynamic menus and successful concepts have earned recognition by publications ranging from the San Francisco Chronicle to Food & Wine magazine.
