Pastry Chef Janice Wong of 2am:dessertbar - Biography

Pastry Chef Janice Wong originally set out to follow in her parent’s footsteps, studying economics and finance in Melbourne, Australia. Impressed with Melbourne’s culinary offerings, Wong had a strong change of heart and enrolled in pastry program at Le Cordon Bleu, Paris. Since that fateful turn, Wong has worked in restaurants including Alinea and Per Se, as she progressed toward mastering her pastry skills.

In 2007, Wong opened 2am:dessertbar, a dessert-focused restaurant designed to be a cerebral experience. Wong is also the visionary behind 2am:experience, a full service catering space she used to launch her edible art exhibits and self-published book, “Perfection in Imperfection.” Her most recent collaboration, 2am:lab, is a nonprofit expansion that helps pave the way for aspiring chefs and expands 2am:dessertbar’s philosophies.
