Chef James Silk of Feast - Biography
James Silk, Feast co-chef with fellow Brit expat Richard Knight, has worked in all aspects of the restaurant business for over two decades. Among his many experiences in London, Silk ran Charles Fontaine’s renowned Quality Chop House and Sam Clark’s award-winning Moro restaurant. Perhaps most notably, Silk worked extensively at Fergus Henderson's St. John Restaurant in central London’s Clerkenwell district, which was recently (again) named among the top 20 restaurants in the world by Restaurant Magazine. It was there, in the illustrious kitchen, that Silk followed in his family tradition, training as a butcher and a chef.
Since moving to the United States, Silk has collaborated with Knight and wife Meagan Silk on Taverna and, most recently, Feast, the warm, neighborhood restaurant where conscientious cooking, generous use of pork, and a creative approach to cuisine keeps customers coming back all year long.
