Executive Chef James Hackney, a Leicestershire, England native, had an early introduction to the culinary world in his parents’ Garden Hotel – a charming English countryside inn where farm-to-table was a way of life long before it was a catchphrase. Hackney, who completed his culinary education from Southfields College in Leicester, United Kingdom, has been the chef de partie at renowned restaurants such as Blantyre, a Relais & Chateau property in Lenox, Massachusetts, La Vieille Maison in Boca Raton, Florida, and Cahrlie Palmer’s Aquaterra in Palm Beach, Florida. He was the chef de cuisine at Boston’s legendary L’Espalier where his seasonally changing menu drew much attention and many more fans, before finding his way to Twenty-Eight Atlantic.
