Chef David Santos of Louro - Biography

Growing up between New Jersey and Portugal, David Santos always knew he wanted to cook. Participating in family baking, vegetable cultivation, and wine making from a young age set him on the road to the kitchen, and he's never looked back. After attending culinary school at Johnson & Wales, Santos got his first taste of professional kitchens at the Ryland Inn and Restaurant Nicholas in New Jersey, before moving on to hone his technique at Bouley and Per Se in NYC. He struck out on his own with supper club Um Segredo, and finding success in that venture Santos put down roots at Louro. There he presents American cuisine that is truly a melting pot of global influences.
