Chef David Anderson of Genoa - Biography
Chef David Anderson hails from Ketchikan, Alaska. He is celebrated as one of Portland’s best young chefs. He came to Portland in 2000 and immediately began working in some the finest kitchens in Portland. He spent time at Portland restaurants Cafe Azul, Southpark, Lauro Kitchen and Vindalho. In 2004, while he was the Chef de Cuisine, Lauro Kitchen won “Restaurant of the Year” from Willamette Week. While at Vindalho, Anderson was featured in Gourmet Magazine, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. He was also named as the "Rising Star" in the Oregonian's Diner Issue. Today Anderson breathes new life into the traditional Italian recipes that Genoa began serving in 1971. Anderson lives in Southeast Portland with his wife, Melissa.
