Journalist Dana Cowin - Biography
Dana Cowin did not grow up in a food-obsessed family. In fact, she describes her meals as a child to be humble affairs, ingredients on a plate devoid of much sauce or flavor. But as a recent Brown University graduate living in New York and working at Vogue, Cowin did enjoy entertaining friends and using food to bring people together. Over the next few years, she made her away around the magazine industry, eventually serving as managing editor of Home & Garden and then managing editor of Mademoiselle. She later brought her lifestyle-oriented approach to food to Food & Wine, where she’s been the Editor-in-Chief since 1995. Cowin is also on the Board of Directors of City Harvest and is a member of The International Association of Culinary Professionals.
