Pastry Chef Dahlia Narvaez of Mozza - Biography

A native Angelena, Dahlia Narvaez’s first pastry experience was helping her mother punch out sugar cookies when she just a toddler. Professionally, she began her career in the kitchen of Los Angeles’ premiere Cuban nightspot, The Conga Room turning out Latin specialties like Dulce de Leche for the tangoing masses. In May of 1999, Narvaez joined Nancy Silvertons’ formidable team at Campanile. After a month as a pastry line cook she was promoted to pastry sous chef. A mere three years later she was named executive pastry chef, running one of the country’s most celebrated dessert departments. Dahlia left Campanile in early 2006 to spend several months consulting for Suzanne Tracht’s Jar before opening Mozza. Narvaez is currently the pastry chef at Nancy Silverton and Mario Batali’s Mozza and the adjoining Pizzeria Mozza.
