Pastry Chef Courtney Weyl of Manresa - Biography

Los Angeles native Courtney Weyl knew what she wanted early on in life: to master the sweet side of the kitchen. In pursuit of her dream, she earned a culinary degree at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone. During and after her time at the CIA, Weyl worked in top kitchens across the state, including Spago Beverly Hills and Cyrus.

In pursuit of more opportunities on the opposite coast, Weyl moved to New York. Honing and refining her skills, she hopped from kitchen to kitchen in Manhattan, starting at Restaurant Daniel as a pastry extern and moving to Gotham Bar and Grill and, eventually, at Wylie Dufresne’s wd~50. In 2014, Weyl competed and won the Vitamix Challenge at StarChefs 9th annual International Chefs Congress. After wd~50 closed its doors, Weyl returned to her native coast, where pursuing her pastry dreams at David Kinch’s Manresa.
