Brewer Chris Gallant of Bronx Brewery - Biography

New York, NY

April 2013

Chris Gallant’s education and proven business chops are just what a small start-up like Bronx Brewery needs to succeed. Holding degrees from Bentley University and MIT’s Sloan School of Management, Gallant kicked off his career with a position at Bain & Company, a consulting agency specializing in food and beverage management. There he learned the ropes by handling everything from sales strategy to organization to acquisitions. His next position as an independent consultant to Heineken International, working to grow small companies in Central and South America, set the stage for his subsequent move to Bronx Brewery.

A lover of beer and New York City, “it was just putting the pieces together” when Gallant joined Damien Brown and Steve O’Sullivan to co-found Bronx Brewery in 2010, bringing life to a long-dormant part of the city. After nearly a year of recipe testing, they released their first brews in 2011. Gallant contributes his business smarts by deciding the business strategy and overseeing sales, marketing, finance, and investor relations. When he sits down to a brew he likes to fit the beer to the time and place, generally sticking to other local offerings such as Sixpoint and 5 Boroughs breweries.
