Author Bruce Shaw - Biography
Bruce Shaw purchased The Harvard Common Press in the 1980s and has been its president and publisher for over 30 years. Under Shaw’s leadership, the Press has developed a focus for cookbooks, specializing in barbecue, vegetarian, international, and regional American fare. It’s most popular publications include Prairie Home Cooking, Vegetarian Planet, The Basque Table, The Japanese Kitchen, Get Saucy, and Perfect Party Food. In addition, Smoke & Spice and The Border Cookbook were both winners of James Beard Book Awards, and many of the Press’ other cookbooks have been nominees for both James Beard and International Association of Culinary Professionals Cookbook Awards. Shaw is an active member of the cookbook community through IACP and the First Annual Cookbook Conference. He is also an investor in Yummly.com, a recipe start-up company.
