Director Beth Schiff of You Choose Creative - Biography

Beth Schiff has almost 20 years in the entertainment industry. Which is to say, in the decades that the rest of us have spent absorbing the evolution of entertainment culture, Schiff helped shape it, interviewing and booking talent for commercials, films, and nonprofit projects.

The Baltimore native got her start as a high school intern for a local news station, following that up with post-college work as a production assistant in the Baltimore-D.C. area. When a major motion picture moved through town, Schiff fell (gracefully) into casting, and has spent her career there ever since. As the industry continues to change, and Schiff herself has moved on to casting in New York City, her goal has remained the same: find the perfect fit for each client.

A self-proclaimed foodie, Schiff found herself working in casting at a time when food television was coming to the forefront of entertainment. So she immersed herself even further, developing a deeper love and knowledge of all things culinary over the past several years, and ultimately heading up the casting team of Food Network’s culinary competition hit, “Chopped” (now in its 18th season).

In addition to her work with “Chopped,” Schiff has researched and interviewed thousands of culinarians for various projects, including CBS’s “The American Baking Competition,” BBC America’s “No Kitchen Required,” and A&E’s “Fix This Kitchen.”
