Sommelier Anthony Garcia of The Heathman Restaurant & Bar - Biography
Anthony Garcia is originally from Austin, Texas, where in his 20s, he left the position as sommelier of the Café at the Four Seasons Hotel to open his seminal wine bar, Tocai. The last three properties he worked for in Texas—Emilia’s, The Driskill Grill, and Jeffrey’s—all earned “Awards of Excellence” from Wine Spectator. Garcia now manages the wine list and cellar for The Heathman Restaurant & Bar in Portland, Oregon (though he is happiest working the floor). Author of Paying Attention: A Guide to Wine with Food, Garcia has earned the Advanced Sommelier designation from the Court of Master Sommeliers.
