Hi!
My name is Stephanie Zonis, and welcome to the June, 2000 edition
of "For Chocolate Lovers Only". Each month, you'll
find recipes, tips, and recommendations on chocolate specialties.
Happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there, and congratulations
to all the June brides and graduates!
Chocolate
Recommendation of the Month:
June's Chocolate Find is Swiss-Master Chocolatier, with
boutiques in Toronto and Hong Kong. Their slogan is "beautiful
chocolates for beautiful people", and they are certainly
serious about the first half of that. An assortment arrived
here with some lovely, spring-like, silk flowers on top of the
box, and a dizzying variety of bonbons inside. Some were whimsical
(like the miniature chocolate telephone and the "mouse"
truffle), while some were in fancier shapes that reminded you
of their European origin. What I particularly liked about these
chocolates was their complexity; many contained two or three
different (yet complementary) textures and flavors. The ingredients
used are obviously of good quality, too.
Swiss-Master
Chocolatier
always has different chocolates to suit the season; they'll
even customize chocolates for you, and corporate orders are
welcome. And there's more good news: they offer over 55 types
of fresh cream truffles! (Why do I feel a sudden need for a
road trip to Canada?) Online ordering is not available as of
this writing, but that should change soon. The website is extensive,
with pictures of some chocolate specialties, the latest health
information on chocolate, links to Toronto-related sites, and
more. Swiss-Master Chocolatier can be found at www.swissmaster.com.
Call them at (416) 444-8802, fax them at (416) 444-3527, or
better still, visit the boutique at 2538 Bayview Avenue in Toronto,
Canada (postal code M2L 2V8). Check 'em out!
