Last January I was in Texas around Weslaco in the Rio Grande Valley. When we went out to eat we were given a side dish of pinto bean soup. It was delicious. In fact I could have made my meal of it. After coming home to Peoria,Illinois I asked my friend in Weslaco to see if he could get the recipe but he was refused by the restaurants. I am looking for a recipe that would compare to the south Texas one. Hoping that you travelers may have tasted it.
