Dan, see my June 27 post. Of course selective breeding and cross-polination are forms of genetic modification. The dividing line is whether or not you tamper DIRECTLY with recombinant DNA (something that's only been done to produce commercial products since 1995). When you breed corn containing virus genes, or soybeans with with genetic material from nuts, the ethical considerations get very serious. Grouping the processes together is like saying the Concorde is nothing more than a glorified paper airplane.
