My favorite cooking tip is to use fresh spices when possible. I often grow my own and find that it dramatically enhances the flavor of many foods.
Grow your own herb garden indoors. It's easy and much cheaper than the supermarket.
My second tip is to use a cornstarch and water mixture to dip sliced meats in before cooking. This ensures tenderness.
