I'm stuck in biotechnology, and have been considering a culinary career nearly all of my life. I have no actual restaurant experience, however, I would like to pursue the field. I live very close (30 minutes by bus)from Manhattan.
I would appreciate anyone's advice about how I might get started in finding part-time employment that would be good on the resume, while helping me pay for cooking school in the future. I am considering either pastry, or if you'll excuse the term, "regular" cuisine.
