Please pay your server

Another reason places have you pay the server,is because the server,is the one holding the money.That way if any mistakes are made as far as change back to customers,lost credit card receipts or,lost money,it is at the servers loss,not the restaurants.It is as though each server is a register,with legs.They are responsible for all transactions and charges.At the end of their shift,they do a balnce of debits and credits,and if it is off,it is the servers loss.Another interesting thought would be to tell the server at your arrival,that you are on such a schedule and need to be out in such and such time,most servers I know,are more than helpful if they know.
