: Although I agree that a diner should definitely no have to wait more than a few minutes for a server to produce a check, proper service dictates that a diner should ask for the check. Too many people have forgotten this. And too many restaurants have their servers set down checks TOO SOON! My favorite (sarcastic) is when I'm still eating. I guess I didn't want more coffee or an after dinner drink. amen sister!!!! if you would give a server less of a tip because you had to wait a few minutes for your check when you enjoyed your dinner, you where looking for a reason to be a cheap ass!!!
