Jack: I'm a little disturbed by point #4 in your diatribe. As a chef I always instruct my servers to start with an introduction of themselves to our guests. This allows a more personal and comfortable interaction between the customer and our servers. Gone are the days of the middle ages when "servants," "cooks," and "Chef's," waited on nobility hand and foot. By allowing a personal introduction, I believe that the restaurant experience can be much more relaxed and congenial, not only for the guest- but for the server as well. We're all equal people, Jack. Even those who wait on us.
