Before starting StarChefs,
Patti Greaney produced hundreds of commercials, music videos,
award-winning PSAs, short films, documentaries, and most recently
a feature film entitled Dinner Rush
Patti moved into production
in 1983 as a freelance producer on various film projects. She
often worked with the award winning film production company, Giraldi
Suarez Productions. Soon she was invited to be on staff and was
eventually named one of its executive producers.
While continuing with her executive producing duties, in 1994
Ms. Greaney opened the New Media division of Giraldi Suarez Productions.
With the launch of StarChefs, a highly acclaimed Internet site,
the company hit the ground running. StarChefs has won a silver
award for best Internet periodical at the Invisions Awards sponsored
by New Media Magazine. It was chosen by Microsoft, US News & World
Report and Brill's Content as one of the top five food sites on
the Internet. StarChefs has been featured in the New York Times,
USA Today, Bon Appétit, Gourmet Magazine, Food Arts, Brand Week,
and nationally on CNN.
Ms. Greaney's background is in photography. She studied fashion
photography at the Fashion Institute of Technology. In the late
1970s, she was an assistant editor of documentaries at Cinema
Arts in New York.
In 1991, she produced and co-directed with Bob Giraldi a documentary
for The New York Women's Foundation. She later had her solo directing
debut with a short narrative film, Lost Art. This film won a silver
plaque at the 1993 Chicago International Film Festival and a silver
medal at the New York Festival for International Media.
Ms. Greaney went on to produce Dinner Rush. Directed by Bob Giraldi.
This fictional feature length film about a father son relationship
set in the milieu of 'Behind the Scenes' in a restaurant was chosen
by Museum of Modern Art for their New Films/New Director's Series
and played to sold out crowds at festivals winning Audience Awards
across the USA.
Patti continues to be active at StarChefs while developing various
film and video projects for theatrical and broadband distribution.
