Atmosphere
Intimate, romantic atmosphere. The restaurant is housed in an elegant turn-of-the-century New York townhouse off Sutton Place on East 58th Street. There are three dining rooms with a canopied garden for outdoor dining during the warmer months.

The entrance boasts a travertine floor and working fireplace. Floor-to-ceiling mirrors frame a marble-topped Lois XV sidetable. The firs dining room is enriched by teak and English elm burl wainscotting surrounded by 19th-century Florentine botanical prints and banquetts covered in Walter Gropiu fabric from Clarence House. At the center of the main dining room is a Lalique chandelier, flanked on one wall by a Chinese needlepoint tapestry, and on the other, by a turn-of-the-century Parisian Chaltillon ceramic and wood carving. An antique Persian carpet dominates the center of the room. The room is separated from the first dining room by an ornate antique frame and fabric screen. The glass-enclosed rear dining room overlooks the canopied garden.
Garden
From a rear door of the restaurant, a staircase descends to a brick-paved garden patio with ivied trellises, and lush flowerbeds filled with seasonal plants and flowering trees. The charming canopied garden below seats an additional 16 diners, and is open from May through October.
