Lambrusco Mushroom sauce

- 1 Lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced thin
- 1/2 onion, minced
- 2 Tbsp. Butter or margarine, melted in saucepan
- 2 cups gravy base made of corn starch, water, and beef soup base. OR 2 cups prepared beef gravy mix
- 1 cup Lambrusco or other sweet red
Directions:
Add onions, then mushrooms to butter in medium saucepan, sauteing over medium heat until onions are clear and mushrooms soften.. increase heat and add Lambrusco, boiling for 1 minute.. Decrease heat to simmer and add gravy base and simmer to desired thickness, depending on use..
Excellent on burgers and topped with melted swiss cheese, or add grilled cubed sirloin and top over egg noodles.
