Old-Fashioned Lemonade

.... Makes 1 1/2 quarts

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups fresh lemon juice (about 12 lemons), strained
  • 4 cups water
  • One-half cup sugar
  • 1 to 2 lemons, very thinly sliced, for serving
  • Ice, for serving
  • Sprigs of lemon mint, for garnish


Pour the strained lemon juice into a large pitcher (preferably clear glass).

Add the water and the sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add the sliced lemons and fill the pitcher with ice before serving. Serve the lemonade in tall glasses garnished with a sprig of mint.
