Learning at Laboratorio del Galileo
Fall 2001

Join Chef Roberto Donna during his hands on, interactive cooking classes limited to only 13 participants. Learn techniques and cooking tips, and leave with many new recipes during an all new series of programs. Participants of all cooking levels will enjoy a continental breakfast and lunch, featuring the food prepared during the session.

Classes are held in Roberto's showcase kitchen, Laboratorio del Galileo,
on Fridays from 10:00am to 1:30pm.

Join Chef Roberto Donna at VIVO! Ristorante FOR his much-anticipated wine dinners at his newest trattoria - VIVO! located at 1509 17th Street, NW in Dupont Circle. We will be featuring five course wine dinners with a series of exclusive Guest Wine Speakers.

Enjoy one or several evenings and sample original and classic Italian dishes from the recipe books of Chef Roberto Donna with complementing wines from the Northern Italian region.

October 11 Game and Mushrooms
A wonderful six course dinner featuring a combination of fresh mushrooms and the best game the market has to offer. Tuscan wines will be served with the meal. $65

November 14 White Truffle Festival
Every year this is what everyone waits for. Wonderful shavings of Alba's white truffles will accompany this glorious six course meal featuring Piedmontese wines. $130

December 11 Forget about Christmas
As we would say in Italy, "forget about it". If you are planning to see what a Christmas five course feast is all about, come on in. Traditional dishes will be prepared for your enjoyment, paired with wonderful wine If not…"forget about it". $59

December 31 Odyssey at Barolo
A classic Italian New Year's Eve Celebration. A five course meal, Panettone cutting at midnight, champagne, and party favors. It's a real Odyssey for at least one night. $75

January 17 Tutto Piemonte IV
It's the fourth year of this successful event. We will offer traditional dishes from a rural and old Piemonte. Six courses of lost recipes and old traditional flavors, all new for us this evening with the king of Piedmontese wines. $65

February 7 Bollito Misto
A five course of rare treats. We will show you the way to eat mix boiled meats in northern Italy, from appetizers to pasta, all the way to dessert. A wonderful selection of sauces will accompany the meats for your enjoyment. Great wines from all over Italy will pair this feast. $59

February 14 Love Me Tender
A Celebration of Love! Champagne for Everyone, roses for the ladies and chocolates for a sweet ending and in the middle a romantic four course meals. $49

March 12 Tears of Naples
Pulcinella, the popular mask of Naples would cry just by hearing the name of it's own town: We instead get hungry!! A southern sample of Joy where pasta was born, pizza was created, and tomatoes sauce flows like water. A great and fun five course meal served with southern Italian wines. $59

April 23 The Mafia Dinner
The Godfather would have been proud of us. An authentic booklet of old recipes found in Little Italy, New York by Chef Enzo: it brings alive memories and fears. Don't worry, to enjoy this great five course dinner your don't need to be part of "the family", just come in with good humor and ready to have fun. Wonderful wines from Sicily will pair each course. Don't forget to wear your pinstripe suit. $59

May 15 In De Medici' s Kitchen
The secrets from the kitchen of Palazzo Vecchio directly on our table. A luxurious six course meal from the markets of Florence and super Tuscan wines to make this evening an unforgettable one. $75

June 27 The Cooking of Parma
Ever wonder where the glorious Proscuitto comes from? The great Parmesan cheese? A very small town carries our flag over the entire world with the freshness and the never duplicated flavors. Tonight we'll do our best to show you in five courses how great the culinary traditions of this town are.
Wines from the same area will accompany the meal. $65

July 16 Preserving and Marinating
A five course meal about marinated meats, vegetables, fish and preserves. All made by Chef Enzo throughout the year. Great California wines highlight each course. $59
