PINOT HOLLYWOOD RESTAURANT AND THE MARTINI BAR
Named "Star Among Newcomers" in Gourmet magazine's restaurant
issue and one of the "Best New Restaurants" by Los Angels Magazines,
Pinot Hollywood Restaurant and The Martini Bar is Joachim and
Christine Splichal's fifth Los Angles area restaurant. It is located
in the heart of the studio and television district next to the
Sunset-Gower Studios, the space formerly occupied by the Columbia
bar and Grill at the corner of Sunset Boulevard.
The Splichals saw that the neighborhood desperately needed a place
that takes into consideration both the dining needs an the schedules
of people working in the area; combining the amenities of a serious
restaurant with the comfort and flexibility of a good "hang-out."
Pinot Hollywood and The Martini Bar's style expands on the Parisian
brassiere concept successfully initiated at Cafe Pinot. A variety
of seafood, chicken, lamb and daily specials comprise the lunch
and dinner menus, with a wood grill adding a touch of Provence
to the preparations. The main "Salon" features a skylight and
a working fireplace; and opens onto a patio providing al fresco
seating. There are private dining rooms for parties ranging in
size from 10 to 200.
The Martini bar, an intimate lounge with a fireplace, features
a "Martini Menu," served in a collection of individual glasses,
as part of its full bar service. A limited afternoon and late
night menu from 11:30AM to 1:00AM ensures visitors "a bite to
eat" at any time of day, and makes the Martini Bar a great place
for late afternoon meetings, or to meet friends after work or
before going out "on the town."
