Since their inception in 1990, The James Beard Foundation Awards have become the highest honors awarded to fine food and beverage professionals in North America. More than 60 Awards are given to: chefs, restaurateurs, cookbook authors, journalists, broadcasters and restaurant designers.

Ballot tabulation is handled by Deloitte & Touche, LLP. The James Beard Foundation, based in New York City, is a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to furthering the practice and appreciation of the culinary arts in America. Winners will receive a bronze award medallion etched with the image of James Beard.
